Website check for dentists in Los Angeles ๐ฆท๐ฑ
Short answer: A good website check for a dental office tests what a new patient sees on a phone: speed, a phone number on the first screen, a working call button, and words that say what you do and where. You can run our free check in seconds, or follow the do-it-yourself steps below.
Free, takes seconds, no card. Data source: our State of LA Dental Websites (October 2026) report.
What a website check should look at
Most dental website "audits" are long lists of tech words. For a dental office, the questions that matter are short:
- ๐ Can a patient call you from a phone in one tap?
- ๐ข Is your phone number on the first phone screen?
- ๐ข Does the page show up fast on a phone?
- ๐ Does the top of the page say what you do and where? ("Family dentist in Glendale", not just a slogan.)
- ๐ Can a patient book?
Google also looks at the phone version of your site first when it reads your pages (Google Search Central: mobile-first indexing). So the phone view is the version that matters most.
How LA dental websites did in our checks
In October 2026 we opened 430 dental office websites in 74 Los Angeles County cities and neighborhoods at phone size. All numbers below are from our State of LA Dental Websites report (October 2026).
- 87% were slow on a phone (304 of 348). "Slow" = main content over 4 seconds, or a Google phone score under 50.
- 40% did not show the phone number as text on the first phone screen (154 of 382).
- 28% had no tap-to-call button on the first phone screen (27 of 96).
- 83% had a "Book" or "Appointment" button on the first phone screen (80 of 96).
Speed by area โฑ๏ธ
"Middle time" is the median time to show the main content in Google's PageSpeed phone test: half the websites were faster, half slower. Google's "good" mark is 2.5 seconds (web.dev: Largest Contentful Paint).
| Area | Websites tested | Middle time | Within 2.5 s |
|---|---|---|---|
| South Bay and nearby | 108 | 9.5 s | 5 of 108 |
| Glendale | 32 | 8.8 s | 1 of 32 |
| Pasadena | 30 | 9.7 s | 0 of 30 |
| Santa Monica | 34 | 9.6 s | 0 of 34 |
| Long Beach | 30 | 9.6 s | 0 of 30 |
One lab run per website on a simulated mid-range phone, so real visitors on fast phones may see a quicker page. These are websites we chose to check, not a random sample of every LA dentist.
Do-it-yourself check (10 minutes) โ
Use your own phone on mobile data. Write down what you see, so you can compare after each fix.
- Open your homepage and count the seconds until the main photo and words appear.
- Without scrolling: is your phone number there, as words?
- Tap it. Does the phone offer to call the right number?
- Is there a "Call" button next to "Book"?
- Does the top say what you do and your city or area?
- Open the menu. Can you find services, hours and your address?
- Run pagespeed.web.dev on "Mobile" and write down the score and "Largest Contentful Paint".
- Search your office name on Google. Does your Google Business Profile show the same phone number as your website? Google says complete and accurate business info helps it match you to searches (Google Business Profile Help: tips to improve your local ranking).
What our free check does
Our free website check looks at your public homepage and answers four questions: Can people tap to call? Does Google know what you do? Does it say where you work? Is it fast on phones? No login, no card, and no email needed to see your report. It is for information only: we do not promise rankings, traffic or new patients.
If you want, we fix what it finds for you (the call button, the headline, the service area and speed). Nothing changes on your site until you say yes.

Questions people ask ๐ฌ
Is the website check really free?
Yes. You type your website and see your report in seconds. No login, no card, and no email needed to see it. Fixing is optional: $9 a month, first month free, cancel any time.
What does a dental website check look at?
What a new patient sees on a phone: speed, the phone number on the first screen, a working tap-to-call button, and words that say what you do and where. We only look at public pages.
Will a website check get my office more patients or a higher Google ranking?
No check can promise that. It shows real problems that can make it harder for people to find and call you. Fixing them makes calling easier, so more people who find you can reach you.
